This one got me to digging. Interesting phenomenon. Most of what I find supports the statements you've made on your blog and on your site...

That, essentially, the AtheoLeft takes whatever position will best achieve Power (or maximum disruption of what they perceive as others holding the Power). Changing to a position diametrically opposed to their previous stance is NOT hypocrisy - in their minds - because they hold themselves to no standard other than "Am I in Power?".

These are the same people who can hold two mutually exclusive ideas together and claim to be for the one, then the other, and for them there is no dissonance. They use their Power to make others agree with whatever they say. And they do their level best to destroy the very suggestion that an objective Something exists that cannot be bought or threatened or otherwise corrupted... and that it does NOT approve of the AtheoLeft's behavior.

I sometimes wonder - acquiring Power is what the AtheoLeft desires most. But is their Voidist thinking the result - or the cause - of that desire?

They want to enforce their will over everyone else, so that anyone who says "I" says it with the voice of the collective - and the collective is directed by the AtheoLeft. That is the same thing I find in myself in my worse moments. Sometimes I think NOT winning the Lottery is a blessing for me. Because I know the things I would be tempted to do with that power, and I know that I would probably not be able to resist for long. This does not mean I am a Liberal. I am just another example (there are many) of a Fallen human.

So they want the Power to enforce their desire to do what they Will, no matter the cost to them or anyone else. That was called spiritual corruption in the old days. And their Will is to acquire power over others (but not themselves).

The Will to Power is - the Power to Will.

Unsurprising, given what I have seen in myself. Or in the current crop of AtheoLeftists. Various amounts of hand-wringing have gone on since I first came here. Most of it is perplexity over the apparent lack of actual goodness or rational thought in a group (the AtheoLeft) that first and foremost presents itself as the moral and intellectual judge of us all. [On their say-so, of course, because they don't really have any standards of 'good' and 'evil' beyond what's inconvenient or useful to them at the moment.]

On this blog, they make silly, scabrous statements and then run away. They act like schoolyard kids. They never change.

I opine that their apparent lack of rational thought goes hand in hand with their Will to Power. The more an Ego expands the less room there is for Reason. It's why stories with supervillains in them almost always end with the villain doing something really stupid (but in keeping with his or her character) and losing everything. The writers of those stories? They know the price of arrogance and overweening ego.

And one other thing I have observed here is that behind the mask of AtheoLeft 'reason' - a very thin mask, as it turns out - is a boiling cauldron of hatred, envy and greed. I think we all have that in us. But for the AtheoLeft, it is much nearer to the surface than most. They have very little, after all, to restrain themselves from acting out their Will. The 'black wish', as Lewis called it, to kill or die rather than to submit is something we've all had to overcome. Most of us dealt with it before we got out of elementary school.

However, the AtheoLeft has, in its typical branch-sawing fashion, been knocking down societal restraints left and right for the past 90 years. They claim to know how the universe began, but do not care if they destroy human society as long as they get to rule over what remains.

They are a warning to us all with every meaningless bleat they post on Stan's blog. "Better to rule in Hell than serve in Heaven". That's the key. But once you have sold your soul - that is, yourself - to the Devil (in whatever form he takes), who is left to profit by the bargain?

That, ladies and gentlemen, is the real end for the AtheoLeft. This business of branch-sawing is consistent with their overall goal, but make no mistake. It's just the opening act.

Stan,

You are so emotionally wedded to your position you refuse to even entertain the possibility you are wrong.

"It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.
Aristotle"

Instead of just discussing simple questions, you insist on misinterpreting opponents. These last 2 posts, devoid of content, is the best evidence.

@ Steven

Dude, you sound like a mad man. Go take your pills and come back once you are in a better shape to process reality... souls, devils, spiritual corruption... dam!

Max,
You have said exactly: nothing. If you have a position to discuss, then lay it out. Make a case. That is the problem for Atheists and Leftists: they cannot make an actual rational case for their position, so they attack their opponent instead.

To declare that a misinterpretation has occured, one must do more than just make that claim. If you could explain it differently for reinterpretation, then you would have done that. But you did not do that, you merely make accusations as if you have the truth that no one else has, but you won't reveal it. Attacking the author rather than the thoughts is a logical fallacy.

So if you can, make your case and we'll discuss it.

WOW! A three-peat! Stan, I enjoy your clarifying the issue, but that was a triple post. Bad internet connection?

How DO you get rid of those excess posts?

Oh, and you're right about Max. He attacks the speaker (you) for misinterpretation. Why? Because he *says so*; apparently there IS no other reason.

Then he declares my posts to be 'without content'. Because? Ah, because *he* says so.

Troll. And not even a good one. You must be failing somewhere, Stan. Or is it like Screwtape said? "The great toothsome sinners of the past will still appear, but they will be fewer."

Unfortunately, what he went on to say was equally true: the great sinners were made from the same material as the great saints. They were being replaced by 'small trash, unfit even for Cerberus the Hellhound". Weak wills, weak minds, lifted just enough to realize they are lost but not enough - "that fatal millimetre too much" - to enable them to actively seek their own salvation. And this trend was good, the devils were winning, because it frustrated the Creator who wanted us all to become Sons.

And so these types drift in here, to throw a weak taunt and then fade away into apathy and oblivion. No wonder they work so hard to maintain the Void, Stan. It's the only place where they are comfortable.

Yeah I had serious bind-up problems with the net this a.m. Finally it went dead cold on me, so I hammered the key to often.

I can remove that stuff from my end, but I won't this time.
